An access log contains a record of all files which have been requested by the visitors while exploring your site. The list is comprehensive, so in case you have a webpage with 2 embedded images, for instance, all of the three files shall be in the log, not just the page. An access log normally includes the date, the Operating System, the browser and the IP address for each and every file in human-readable form, so you can get an idea about the most popular files on your site. The log, that is also frequently called "raw data", is an addition to the web stats that you normally get with a hosting account, not a replacement. An example why you may need this kind of a log is if you wish to use some software on your personal computer to prepare a report about the website’s performance, but you don't want to use the typical graphs and tables that come with the server-generated website statistics.
Access Log Manager in Cloud Hosting
When you opt for one of our cloud hosting plans, you shall get comprehensive access logs for your sites. Once you sign in to your Hepsia Control Panel, you can check out the Access/Error Logs section in which you will see a complete list of the domain names and subdomains that you've added or created inside the hosting account. You will simply have to click on the On button, that is found on the right-hand side of every hostname and our cloud platform will start generating logs right away. To disable this function, you will have to follow the same exact steps and click on the Off button. The domains and subdomains can be handled separately and at any time. You'll find a download link in the Logs section of the Control Panel for any log created by our system, allowing you to save the file to your desktop or notebook and view it or use it with some log processing software.
Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Hosting
Our advanced hosting platform will create access logs for any website hosted in a semi-dedicated server account, as long as this function is enabled. All domain names and subdomains that you have will be listed within the Access/Error Logs section of the Hepsia CP, that we offer with all the accounts, so if you'd like our system to start producing logs for any of them, you should just click on the little button on the right side of the respective domain/subdomain and change the default Off option to On. You can stop this function whenever you want by following the exact same steps. You'll find a Download link for each log within the same exact section of the Control Panel, so you will be able to save the content generated by our system in .txt format with just a click. An existing log file can be downloaded even after the option has been deactivated, so you'll still be able to view the data which has already been generated.
